American Made Quality and Simplicity!
I learned about this product from “Cutlery Corner” which airs on television during the week. I have purchased a few items from them and saw the creator of this product, Paul Block on one of their weekend shows. It immediately reminded me of the Smith’s Sharpener I own which is a non-flexible, ceramic “V” sharpener. It’s ok but doesn’t doe scissors or anything serrated and does an ok job with Santoku Knives. What impressed me was the fact that the Block Sharpener uses a flexing sharpening system with “V” sharpening steels that flex to adapt to any blade. It also claimed to do serrated knives, axes, just about anything that still had a bevel. So I checked out their website but thought it was a bit too pricey. So low and behold, I find it on eBay! So, I bought it. Guess what? I have gone around the house like a lunatic sharpening everything I can find, and I can say that IT SAYS WHAT IT DOES AND DOES WHAT IT SAYS! Thank you, Mr. Paul Block, for such a simple, affordable, American Made solution that fills an everyday need every household has! This thing really works! Get one!

Best knife sharpener by far but there is a secret to using it.
I just got this sharpener today. I have sharpened at least a dozen knives with no real problem. Some of the kitchen knives that belong to my mother and probably have never been sharpened were a problem. Sharpening the straight edge was easy the curved section of the blade that contacts the cutting surface was the most dull. I could feel the sharpened edge kept moving around the curve so it was sharpening the edge but taking a lot of time so I used a Smiths electric sharpener to re-profile that portion of the blade then I worked the edge and it sharpened out easily. I have used it on kitchen and camping knives so far. Now the secret and it isn’t really a secret since it is mentioned in a company video. You must put a bit of oil on it where it contacts the edge being sharpened. I put a drop of oil on it between knives I am sharpening. I will always have one of these sharpeners with me. It is the easiest way to sharpener any knife. I did use it on several serrated steak knives and it sharpened them easily.

Here is an honest review to show you what this thing can do. I purchased a Japanese knife from Amazon, a Seto Knives VG-10 33 Damascus kitchen knife. It got dull after about 2 months of use. So I brought it to a professional sharpener in Rhinebeck NY. The knife came back duller than it was before I took it and they scratched it in the process! So I thought, What the heck… it’s time to pull out the Block Sharpener that I had gotten and not tried yet. I oiled it with 3-in-One oil and passed the knife as it shows in the video, about 10 times. Then I stropped the blade on cardboard. It cut through paper with ease! Sharper than any knife I’ve seen! There you have… don’t hesitate to purchase, but follow the directions!
