Knife Sharpener for Chef Knives
The authentic Block Knife Sharpener for Chef Knives features a striking green body with a Black safety grip. Therefore, it serves as the ultimate manual sharpening solution for professional kitchen cutlery, culinary students, and home chefs. We proudly engineer and manufacture this compact tool 100% in Somerset, Kentucky. Consequently, it eliminates the frustration of dull kitchen knives. Best of all, it removes the risk of ruining premium steel with aggressive electric grinders.
Premium D2 Steel Honing Rods
Our patented flex-angle technology combined with premium, high-hardness D2 steel honing rods delivers incredible performance. Specifically, the handle flexes slightly when you apply firm downward pressure to a dull blade. This dynamic movement allows the built-in D2 rods to perfectly match the original factory bevel of your chef knife. For example, it handles a narrow 17-degree European edge or a wider 28-degree utility angle with ease. Because there is absolutely no guesswork involved, this tool remains the safest option for maintaining your kitchen knives.
Step-by-Step Instructions for Use
Using this sharpener correctly is simple but highly effective.
-
- Set Up: First, anchor the sharpener on a stable countertop surface.
- First Pass: Next, insert the heel of your chef knife into the flexible rods. Press down firmly to flex the rods and draw the blade toward you from heel to tip in one smooth, continuous stroke.
- Follow the Curve: As you pull the blade through, gently lift the handle of the knife up to follow the natural curve of the blade.
- Finish and Hone: As the edge begins to catch and get sharper, gradually reduce your downward pressure. Finally, transition to light, smooth strokes to polish and hone the final edge.
An Incredibly Versatile Multi-Purpose Kitchen Tool
This multi-purpose kitchen tool is incredibly versatile. Beyond standard Western chef knives, it easily sharpens serrated bread knives, Santokus, cleavers, paring knives, and utility blades. For serrated edges, simply position the knife in the middle of the rods. Then, use a gentle, side-to-side rocking motion to sharpen each individual tooth effectively. Furthermore, you can apply a few drops of honing oil, cooking oil, or water directly to the steel surface for an even smoother draw. Invest in the original Block sharpener to keep your culinary tools well-maintained and ready for any kitchen task. Click our links to view our helpful “see how we do it” video.
