This Black ring you see in this image is to give you great grip when using them of flat slippery surface. we also use our Anti- slip grip on the top side sharpener where we added a unique Thumb grip and guard. This thumb grip gives you great control when sharpening knives free hand. Like in the woods when there no table available to work off of or when sharpening things like scissors and gardening tools. Block sharpeners also have a patent flex made in the handles design that able our honing rods we use in them to flex. This lets the rods adjust to knifes original cutting edges. So, when you draw any type of cutting edge or knife blade threw the honing rods you can only make them sharper. You cannot lose what cutting edges you already have on your blades or devalue expensive knives. You will find with our unique flex design you can sharpen many different types of cutting edges. Like all V -shaped edges form 17 Degrees to 24 Degrees, Convent edges, Serrated edges, Scissor edges and odd shaped edges and blades like found on Snake shaped Daggers and Swords.

I’ve been on the prowl for a knife sharpener for a while now and have always held back, for various reasons, price, a bad review, where the item hailed from, size etc. Then I watched a video on the Block Sharpener and most of my concerns were or seemed to be addressed so I took a chance. It does take a little time to truly master but chalk that up to sweat equity if you want.
