Rock star and avid hunter Ted Nugent had the pleasure of meeting the remarkable Billie Jo Block at the esteemed Bubba’s sport show held in the magnificent city of Birmingham, Alabama. As it so happens, Ted Nugent already possessed extensive knowledge about our Block sharpeners and was delighted to officially endorse our new model sharpener. It was revealed that he first received our original Block sharpener many years ago from the well-respected figure, my grandpa Block, at a late ’80s sport show hosted in the charming town of Imlay City, Michigan. Over the years, Ted has continued to utilize this sharpener on a consistent basis due to its unmatched quality and unparalleled performance.

One of the most memorable experiences we’ve had was attending a show hosted by the amazing Rick Hurst, famously known as Enos. It was a thrilling time, as we had the opportunity to demonstrate our highly effective sharpeners at the reunion However, what made it even more special was the fact that it coincided with the Duke of Hazzard reunion, where we had the honors of meeting several iconic actors from the original TV show including Catherine Bach, popularly known as Daisy Duke, as well as John Schneider who played the role of Bo Duke, and many other talented actors. Duck Dynasty family and friends use the Blocks sharpener.
Paul and Billie have been promoting their highly effective knife sharpener at the popular Outdoors Blast event for several years now. One day, they decided to take a stroll around the corner when they stumbled upon the famous Duck Dynasty booth. There, they met the well-known John Godwin and Mountain Man Tim Guraedy, who were passionately promoting their duck calls.
Eager to showcase their own product, Paul wasted no time in displaying his trusty Block sharpener to the Duck Dynasty stars. They were amazed by its sharpness, precision, and durability, and were more than happy to spread the word about it to their own customers and fans.
As the day progressed, Paul and Billie also had the pleasure of meeting other cast members from the popular show, including Jep and Jessica Robertson, and Justin Martin. Billie Jo helped a little person find his very tall friend when he was lost in the crowd of people at the Lexington Kentucky Comicon 2013.
It was a chaotic scene at the Comicon, with people of all sizes dressed in costumes and milling about. Billie Jo suddenly caught sight of a lost little person, looking around anxiously.
Later, Billie Jo found out she had helped actor Felix Silla, aka Cousin Itt, find his lifelong friend Lurch, from the TV show Addams Family.
Felix Silla was not dressed in the Cousin Itt costume, so it took a while for Billie Jo to realize who she had helped.
What a surprise it was for Billie Jo, being a big fan of the Addams Family show herself! They made her feel like part of their family now, and she gave them a block sharpener to remember her by.

Smokey mountains Moonshiners
During our conversation, they shared fascinating stories about their family’s moonshining history and the infamous feud between the Hatfields and McCoys.
Big Jim was quite impressed with our sharpener, so we exchanged numbers and did some horse trading later that night while sharing stories.
The following weekend, a couple hundred miles south, we stopped at a small flea market in Murphy’s, North Carolina where we met Wayne from the famous Moonshiners show, also known as Wayne from Hanging Dog Road.
As we chatted with Wayne, he told us all about his experience filming the show and the challenges of making moonshine in the mountains.
Wayne was quite impressed with all the things we could sharpen with our Block sharpener, so we did a little horse trading before leaving town..
After a bit of negotiation, we left with some of Wayne’s homemade apple pie.
