I bought a model similar to this one years and years ago at a gun show. Finally it had seen better days, and I was super excited when I found this on Amazon. The one I got works even better than the old one. It is very heavy duty and has a rubber grip to prevent slipping. I am an avid home cook, and I have a 13 year old set of kitchen aid knives. This keeps them perfectly sharp to the point where if I simply bump one accidentally with my hand it’ll make a razor type cut on the skin. I use it for all my kitchen shears as well. Sharpening is very quick and always precise and perfect.

After watching reviews of this sharpener I decided to give it a try. I worked as was decribed and performed as well and better than some more expensive sharpeners. I ordered a Block Knife Sharpener about 3 days ago and I have not been more impressed or satisified with a purchase in a long time. I have owned and used many high profile sharpening systems such as Lansky, KME, Wicked Edge, Ken Onion (electrical), Spyderco guided rails, a ton of pull throughs such as the Blade Medic by Lansky and of course Traditional whetstones and strops. This is AMAZING at creating WICKED burrs that in turn make SCARY SHARP APEXES which results in… SCARY SHARP BLADES! The fact it conforms to the angle of your blade is just icing on the cake… Way to go Paul Block. It tears me up when you sharpen someones knife and they just walk on, those heartless heathens… Or when you ask for someone, ANYONE to hand them a knife to sharpen and no one answers. If I were there I would volunteer my EDC blade. I carry some of the finest blades you can buy, at least within my budget. I have used your sharpener to put a combat worthy edge on my Benchmade Infidel 3300BK (EDC), Microtech Combat Troodon and my combat blade when I know something is going down or i’m expecting tangos’ Gerber Mark II. I am here to apologize to Mr block, i said some things that were not true about his sharpener, since posting that these sharpener basically didn’t work i have now got all my knifes razor dry hair shaving sharp. It just takes time to adapt to the block sharpener like anything else, this thing is every thing he said it was and more simply put its awesome once you get the hang of it. I sharpened an old bench made knife that was total destroyed by someone who tried sharpening on a grinder years ago, it took some work but that dam knife is dry shaving its a miracle really, once again Mr Block i apologize this is an amazing sharpener its only as good as the person using it , it just takes some practice to get the hang of it man am i stocked every thing in the house is a razor lol. Please for give my impatience.

I bought one of these at the Pennsylvania Great outdoors show 2 weeks ago- The guy at the booth was really nice and sharpened my knives for me – while I wasn’t completely convinced at the time (my knives are usually pretty sharp – enough to shave the hair on my arm) I bought one of these – mainly to keep in my go-bag. Man was I stupid. should have bought 3-4 more at the show price to give as gifts.
I got home from the show and ran my kitchen knives through this gizmo – cleaned up mostly sharp blades into razor masterpieces in about 30 seconds – way too frikking simple and easy. Thanks for a great product !
